Debergerac Productions Welcomes New Intern Rob Sweet
Debergerac Productions, Inc. welcomes Rob Sweet to an internship position. Rob is a junior at St. John Fisher College, majoring in Media & Communications with a double-minor in Film and Sports Management. He is also a member of the school’s Cardinal Television club, has worked on the production of the Fisher News program, and is currently in the process of creating a new entertainment television show for CTV.
Rob Sweet is also a professional wrestler for Upstate Pro-Wrestling based here in Rochester and freelances himself to other organizations around the country. He has been a nationally recognized tag team champion for the National Wrestling Alliance and has ranked in the top 500 wrestlers in the world for the publication Pro Wrestling Illustrated for three years running.
Rob’s love for video production came from his passion for the professional wrestling business and the importance that the broadcasting side of the industry provided. In an attempt to learn all the aspects of television broadcasting, he enrolled in the Intro to Video Production course at Fisher with Dr. Todd Sodano. The class enriched his passion to learn, not only on-air aspects of the industry, but the behind-the-camera elements as well.
In the class, Rob produced, directed, edited, and starred in “The ‘Rassler,” a short film that combined Rob’s passion for professional wrestling and video production. The film would go on to become a standard learning component for future classes. Rob continued his education in production by taking Dr. Sodano’s Television Production course at St. John Fisher, where he helped produce and starred in the series The Verge.
Rob states, “I am eager to work with such a reputable company that I can learn so much more from. It is also exciting to take the knowledge I’ve acquired already from my schooling and be able to make real world applications with it.”
