I was fortunate to have met Tom Ferraro last year, when we interviewed him as a nominee for the Farash Prize for Social Entrepreneurship, which Foodlink later won. He was wonderful to work with, and even in the short time we were together, I could sense his genuine humility and dedication to helping people. Just walking through the massive Foodlink warehouse, and seeing all the people working and volunteering to make the operation run, was personally humbling.
When you hear someone say that one person can make difference, it sounds like a cliche. Then you you meet someone like Tom Ferraro, and realize what one person, dedicated, driven by his faith, willing to make personal sacrifices, can make a difference in so many lives. And it makes me ask myself, what more could I be doing?
