DeBergerac Productions, Inc. welcomes Nick Millard to an Intern position. Nick is from Fulton, NY and is currently a senior at St. John Fisher College, majoring in Communications with a concentration in Video Production, while minoring in History. He is a member of the Communications National Honor Society, Lambda Pi Eta.
Originally, he went to Fisher to pursue a concentration in Journalism. It took him one class and a month at the school paper his freshman year to realize that writing wasn’t the route he wanted to take. Nick says, “I spent the first three semesters at Fisher lost about what I wanted to do.“ That all changed when he took Intro to Video Production in the spring of his sophomore year.
Video Production opened up a completely new world for him, and found him something that he truly loved to do. What Nick loves the most about production is, “seeing all the hard work and dedication pay off with something worth showing to the world.“ Says Nick: “It reminds me a lot of when he played football growing up; football to its simplest forms is about all the different parts that have to come together to make a good team.”
Nick’s theory on teamwork came together when he was elected by his peers in Fisher’s Advanced Video Production class to direct and edit the first student made film “Endgame”. “Endgame” gained local media attention during production, and drew in a crowd of over 200 people during its premier in April, 2013.
In the spring of 2013, He also acted as a Teaching Assistant for the Intro to Video Production class. He recognized the fact that Video Production was what kept him in the Communications world, and he wanted to help other students find that same passion. Nick has also spent time in the recent years in a large corporate setting, shooting interviews and training videos for Constellation Energy Nuclear Group. “While all my experiences were great, I am still searching for the help to take the next step and truly become a professional at what I do,” said Nick.
“That opportunity came when I got the word that I would be interning at DeBergerac in the fall of 2013. I love both cinematography and post production, and with the help of everyone here, I hope to take my solid raw skills in Video Production and make them great.“
