The year has just taken off and the first month has sped right by!
Our new logo is nearly ready! We look forward to unveiling it in the coming weeks. One of the things we realized, was that no one logo would work for everything we do. So we will have an overall logo and look, then parts will be used for different things, like a video bug, business cards, t-shirts and websites. Yasmin Jung has been very patient with us!
Reckitt Benckiser – History of French’s Mustard for their sales meeting in Puerto Rico. (Thanks to the Cheshires!) We made a marketing campaign “sizzler” from stills, old commercials and jingles to energize the audience — in 2 1/2 days!
Carestream National Sales Meeting – We shot and edited, working around the clock at this meeting. There were some snafus. We were going to interview the sales force as they arrived as part of the video collage, however, the severe weather caused many travel delays. So there really wasn’t much to shoot as people trickled in. Editing went fine, but it always seems to take longer when you move the editing system around and have to set it up somewhere else. Luckily, the next morning, everyone laughed when they were supposed and the client was happy. We did their “Casino Night” by having us both work simultaneously, one shooting and the other editing. We were able to document Carestream’s CSS Room and provide a video for the Awards Banquet. It was nice to work on the same project together. We were able to do more collaborating between shooter and editor. We also got to work with Cheshire again. We delivered the videos every night — technically every morning before 7:45 am. Which meant we needed to find ways into the banquet room in the wee hours of the morning. Always an adventure.
Thanks to the entire Carestream US & C Sales team for allowing us to record their big event-and for answering our questions on camera!
Volunteers Of America – Shot and edited a new hire orientation and facilities tour. They are the VOA of Western New York, meaning their service area is everything West of Duchess County! So this video will help new employees all around Western NY understand their benefits and responsibilities, but also their place in this national organization.
Estrofest – The live show ROCKED! Those women know how to have fun. We had some fun with them as well. Glad to hear the audience enjoyed them as well. We worked on (shot and/or edited) 5 videos for them:
- Shut Up SWAT
- Was The Price Right?
- The Cougar Kit
- How to Talk to Friends
The videos will be up on their web site as well as ours soon!
Photo Expo, The Photographic Historical Society of Rochester, NY: giving talk on transferring film to HD. On February 18th (yes, the day before a trip to California) one of us will be giving an informal presentation to TPHS about the positive and negative developments of transferring old films to digital media. While accessiblity and restoration techniques have greatly improved, presentation and longevity are still in question. Will the current digital files survive as long as film has? How best to present a film shot 4:3 in a growing 16:9 world? (Crop or not to crop)? To find out the answer to these and other questions, please join us at the Pittsford Barnes and Noble in the Community room. The meeting starts at 7:30PM. See you there!
